How to Find the Time for Marketing your Business on Social Media

fundraising marketing May 10, 2023

Every morning, I wake up at 4:30am, workout, walk the dog, eat breakfast and then head out the door to be greeted with a day full of meetings, constant interruptions and more work than hours in the day.

After all of that… I still have to find time for marketing my business which let’s face it… after a crazy day, that is the last thing I feel like working on.

So when I finally sit down to the computer to work on this thing called social media, I feel totally overwhelmed.

After years of learning what works and what doesn’t, I want to pass that on to you. The good news is that you do not have to be on every social media platform! Whew!

My recommendation to you is to go with Facebook and Instagram. I know those are not the newest platforms out there, but they have a large number of dedicated users. Facebook generally does well with users age 35+ and Instagram is about 20+. The beautiful thing about Facebook is that when you make a post there, you can select a button that allows you to post the same thing on Instagram immediately.

Down the road, I would highly suggest starting a YouTube channel. Video content is only gaining in popularity, but you do not need to focus on that right now.

Let’s go back to FB and IG. After deciding on the platforms you want to use, it is time to develop a content plan. This is about 12 weeks of content that you will post on the channel and it should be a variety topics to include testimonials, information about your business, fun polls, product info and more.

The idea is that users can get a quick overview of who you are by what you post. You goal should be 2 posts/week and the best news is… you can preschedule them!
